Who is an Orphan ?

An orphan is a child who has lost one or both parents to any cause of death. Today, over 153 million children worldwide are orphans.

Some of the leading causes are war, disease, poverty, natural causes, natural disasters, disappearances, desertion, abandonment and accidents.

In the UK and Pakistan, many families rely on the kindness of charities that support widows and their orphans to feed their children and those in need.

There are approximately 85,000 looked after children in the UK. This is children that are in the care system. The latest data tells us that almost one in three children in the UK are living in poverty (31%).
Nearly half of children living in lone parent families live in poverty, compared with one in four of those in couple families.

A UN survey revealed that Pakistan is home to some 4.6 million orphan children out of which a majority of the population is aged below 17 years old.

Charity is one of the most blessed ways to gain reward and give orphan children all the opportunities they deserve.

By donating to Orphan Children Charity, you have the opportunity to embrace and help children and young people in the UK and Pakistan by providing aid and resources to improve their quality of life and overcome poverty and hardship.
